Samantha McCoy’s appellate and litigation practice spans diverse areas such as personal injury, product liability, labor and employment law, civil sexual assault matters, insurance defense, and professional malpractice. She has experience representing insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes and first‑party bad faith claims, and has advised insurers across a broad spectrum of policy types, including catastrophic loss, professional liability, workers’ compensation, and general liability  Before entering the legal field, Samantha worked as a licensed mental health therapist specializing in trauma‑informed practice, which is a foundation that continues to inform her client‑centered, empathetic approach to legal advocacy.

In addition to her appellate and litigation practice, Samantha maintains a robust legislative advocacy portfolio focused on strengthening protections for survivors of violence. With more than a decade of experience lobbying at the state, federal, and international levels, she has played a key role in the passage of multiple laws across five states, one federal bill, and a United Nations Resolution. Samantha is also an accomplished speaker, presenting at conferences, podcasts, and professional forums for audiences that have included United Nations delegates, members of the U.S. Congress, Title IX offices, and law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Samantha has co‑authored several articles on insurance law for Chambers and Partners and regularly contributes to publications of the ABA Young Lawyers Division. Her writing reflects her deep knowledge of insurance coverage and appellate practice, as well as her commitment to advancing legal education and professional development.
